SOUTH AFRICA -- KRUGER NATIONAL PARK TOUR

Pre-Congress -- Monday 29th October to Thursday 1st November 2001
Post-Congress -- Friday 9th November to Monday 12th November 2001

Day 1: Depart from Johannesburg by air-conditioned microbus with an experienced Kruger Park guide. Drive across the Highveld farmlands the Drakensberg Mountains before lunch. 

Visit the highlights of the Panorama route including the magnificent Blyde River Canyon. Continue on to Mohlabetsi Private Lodge in time for the evening game drive in an open safari vehicle. 

Enjoy dinner in the boma under the starlit sky and overnight in an ethnic chalet with ceiling fan and private facilities

OVERNIGHT: MOHLABETSI PRIVATE LODGE - (Standard Chalet)
MEALS & GAME ACTIVITIES

Day 2: Join an armed ranger for an early morning bush walk followed by a hearty breakfast at the lodge. Depart from Mohlabetsi and proceed to the entrance of Kruger National Park. Enjoy the rest of the day game viewing with suitable stops for refreshments. 

Arrive at your Rest Camp for overnight and book into an air-conditioned chalet with private facilities and screens to prevent insects.

Dinner will be served in the restaurant.

OVERNIGHT: REST CAMP - (Standard Chalet)
BREAKFAST, DINNER & GAME ACTIVITIES

Day 3: Leave camp at dawn for an early morning game drive to look for lions and other Big Five species followed by breakfast. Further game viewing and birdwatching during the morning.

Later join the optional night drive (when available) to see the nocturnal animals with spotlights.

Dinner or a barbecue and overnight at a Rest Camp

OVERNIGHT: REST CAMP - (Standard Chalet)
BREAKFAST, DINNER & GAME ACTIVITIES

Day 4: Enjoy your final game drive to search for those elusive animals you have missed. Breakfast and then leave the Park for your homeward journey stopping en-route for curios.

Travel past Lowveld citrus farms and forests to Nelspruit, the capital of Mpumalanga province. 

Continue to the Elands Valley and up the escarpment to the Highveld for lunch. Arrive in Johannesburg approximately 16h00.
