Friday 26th October 2001:
Arrive Johannesburg International Airport where you will be met by a Parker Tours airport representative and contracted driver/guide, who will sort out immediate administrative concerns before escorting you to your kombi transport.
Drive the 3 hour journey to stay 2 nights at a renowned, 140 year-old inn in the Drakensberg foothills. You will arrive in time for a late lunch. There is a swimming pool and other recreational amenities. It is ideally placed to explore the area, now a World Heritage Site and acknowledged as one of the world's most beautiful mountain regions.

Saturday 27th October 2001: Exploring the Drakensberg with your guide, to include the Royal Natal National Park, and some of the famous itineraries, such as Cathedral Peak and Champagne Valley. You will stop for lunch en route.

Sunday 28th October 2001: Drive to one of the fastest-emerging cultural villages in Zululand for a 2-night stay, to witness the customs and culture of the Zulu community at first hand, whilst still enjoying your creature comforts! This is an expanding and improving sector of South Africa's imaginative approach to modern tourism, and ideally suited to World Wilderness Congress delegates and their eco-tourism deliberations that will follow in Port Elizabeth.

Monday 29th October 2001: The traditions of the Zulu nation, still a monarchy with its respected socio-political infrastructure and practices, language and intact tribal systems, will unfold during the two days spent at this delightful village. The distortions and ignorance that the outside world has collected will be gently evaporated and forever forgotten.

Tuesday 30th October 2001: Drive the relatively short distance to stay at Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Game reserve, the legacy of Dr Ian Player and other dedicated conservationists. Big 5, well-equipped and managed, and South Africa's oldest reserve. A perfect way to prepare for the Wilderness Congress that follows.
DINNER, BED & BREAKFAST plus GAME DRIVE
Wednesday 31st October 2001: The bush routine will be enjoyed immediately as the opportunity to view game with game guards, or on your own, becomes available.

Thursday 1st November 2001: Drive to Durban Airport, bid farewell to your guide and catch your connecting flight to Port Elizabeth to take part in the 7th World Wilderness Congress. You will have had a relaxing introduction to the life and rhythm of South Africa's most varied and contrasting of Provinces.
The cost of this 6-day pre-Congress tour is US$1279.00 per person, with an additional Single Supplement of US$210.00.
It includes all accommodation and meals, including lunches, specified above, the hire of a professional guide and transport [including fuel]
throughout, Parker Tours airport meeting services, entrance and toll fees, cold drinks in the transport throughout, all government taxes and tourism levies and all Parker Tours administrative charges.
