Our Endeavor

While presenting wilderness in a global context, the 7th World Wilderness Congress will emphasize wildlands in Africa - now and in the future - and their meaning for both urban and rural people and other life that shares the planet with us.

From the Governing Board, 7th World Wilderness Congress

Welcome to the 7th World Wilderness Congress. Those of us on the Governing Board have taken on this commitment to the 7th WWC with enthusiasm…and with great hope for Africa. We are shaping the agenda for the Congress to address real needs, especially the critical connection between the vitality and viability of our wilderness and wildlife resource, and the well being and health of our people. The "African connection" between people and nature is as old as the human race, is a foundation for our spirit and culture, and a beacon for our future.

Yes, Africa is a home for ALL of us, so we look forward with pleasure to welcoming you "home" to Port Elizabeth in South Africa, in November this year.
