WHEREAS,

Actions that impact upon wilderness areas and communities living in and around such areas are often not known to such communities until a very late stage; and

Local communities and NGOs often face great difficulties in obtaining such information from government authorities

The 6^th World Wilderness Congress hereby resolves that:

• All governments take such legislation and other steps as may be necessary to provide full and early access to information to affected individuals and NGOs on such issues.
