WHEREAS,

Programs relating to conservation education should take into account wherever possible, local traditions, faiths and cultural practices that have contributed to nature conservation;

The 6^th World Wilderness Congress hereby resolves that:

• Education programs may re-emphasize the value systems that have contributed to protecting nature with a sense of respect and reverence.
